Equities on Tuesday registered decline amid mix sentiments on the Lahore Stock Exchange while trading turnover was decreased because of the investors' cautious approach which remained on the sideline. The LSE-25 index lost 36.35 points and was closed at 4154.11 against 4190.46 of Monday while transaction volume was squeezed to 3.057 million shares compared with the day earlier volume of 5.005 million shares.

The market was opened on a mixed note and remained range-bound during early trading hours. Later, the market could not sustain, as investors started offloading of their holdings to secure their positions. As a result, Allied Bank, National Bank, Bank of Punjab, Burshane LPG, Ruby Textile Mills, Atlas Honda, Adamjee Insurance, KESC and Punjab Modaraba 1st recorded losses.

However, PPL, PSO, Hira Textile Mills, Pakgen Power, Honda Atlas Cars, Pak Electron, Shafi Chemical, Sui Northern, Pakistan Insurance, Lucky Cement, Faysal Bank and Pervez Ahmed Securities resisted pressure and were closed in green zone. The advancing stocks were ahead of the declining ones. Of 115 active companies, 35 registered gains, 24 were closed in negative column while 56 companies stayed glued to their previous closing.
